    OK - I'm spooked.

Using OS 10.3.7 and Mail version 1.3.9 on a PowerBook RevB, 1ghz.

My mail POP server is with my ISP and they never give me trouble.

So - been using Mail for some time and today it started doing the wierdest thing. Everytime new mail arrives from the server it will register in my INBOX (with the little number showing new messages) but the instant I click the INBOX, all the new mail disappears. It doesn't go to trash or junk, it just vanishes. I have searched all over for it and can't find it.

It's just gone. I know I received it becasue I can go to the server and collect mail directly from the ISP.

Any ideas. I have repaired permissions and restarted more times than I care to think about.

    ___
Tried something - I took an email from the trash folder and dropped it into the INBOX. It just goes away. Doesn't open, doesn't stay there - just vanishes.

    This is strange - help.

What about the WWDC 2009 videos? They aren't up for sale anymore and they don't appear to be part of the free offerings for registered developers. Can anyone confirm whether or not the 2009 videos were added with the 2010 videos?

I may go there or to Tice's. It's not as busy at Tice's. GS Plaza is a mad house on the weekends and I can't imagine it at an event like this.
I need to pick up a power adapter that was ordered for me by the "Genius" at Tice's.
Wherever I am, I'm the guy with long hair.

Yes, everybody would like to know more, but what's another month?
I've already decided that unless by some miracle FCP X can really replace my FCP 7 workflow straight out of the box in June (highly unlikely), I'm not buying it until it truly can, even if it's only $300. I'm sure the post houses feel the same way...Its a no brainer for me. Ill buy it so I can at least start at ground floor. It wont take me away from Avid/FCP at work but I will at least have a head-start in case the school I teach at gets it for Fall classes.
Now as far as dropping it into a real world workflow, Id wait a bit.
Ive learned to not get caught up on the hype thanks to companies such as Adobe :P
Ill let the million plus beta-testers deal with it before I move to another CS blah blah blah :P

Pages is perfectly fine for word processing, which I know from experience as I been using it for that purpose every day for nearly two years. Most of the people who say otherwise either haven't learned to use it or would have preferred that Apple produce a Word clone. Some of are very happy that they did not go that route.

So would it be accurate to say that if the CD-ROM was authored with Flash as an executable then it would be harder to extract individual assets (i.e., videos, images & PDFs)? But then again, what would prevent the infringer from just copying over the whole disc? Right?

Thanks to all for your replies. You guys are awesome! You have helped clear things up in my mind.

    Regards.

What is going on in the software dept at 1 infinite loop?

Not only is this update overdue, but its the only one of Apple's own iPhone apps to even be touched for iOS4 or the iPhone 4.

None of the Apps have been updated to a universal version with iPad support.

Oh, but Find my iPhone was critically important to have out on launch...

    It's embarrassing.

I mean, what kind of example does this set for other devs? Apple expects their developers of technically completed products (apps) to be updated asap to support all of the latest features of the latest devices. Yet they themselves have half a dozen critical apps that haven't even been touched?

Sorry - slow reply. If it's an upgrade thing, well, than that's fine! As long as the people who are up to date can see it that's ok. I need to find an up to date tester now!

I think this is just for Apple to not have to admit defeat.

    I'm getting that feeling too.

Its great that Apple are still updating Java... however, no news regarding Java 7... Hoping that Java 7 doesn't appear too long after official releases on other platforms.

Oracle announced Java 7 for Summer Java 8 12 to 18 months later. They are generally moving the JVM to better support languages other than Java, including support for functions as first-class objects among other improvements.

I have a Mx 1000 too, and as everyone else has said, it is the best mouse I have ever used. It glides effortlessly on my desk and is very accurate and smooth. At first, it sees a little big and heavy, but you get used to it because it is very comfortable. According to logitech's site, the battery lasts 21 days. I haven't timed it, but that is about how long it lasts for me. Amazon had the cheapest price when I ordered it. Check there. It is a bit expensive, but it's worth every penny.

I like keeping singles as a separate album. :) But yeah, since my last post, I worked on some groupings and they look great. I just wish they were enabled in iPod and iPhone...
